Q: What is a personalized book?
A: A children’s personalized book is a full color illustrated book that, with our patented software, incorporates the text of the story with the children you add to that story. Each book includes the child’s name, a couple of their friends’ names and their hometown. Instantly they become the stars with their favorite cartoon characters. Parents as well as kids love the books. They encourage reading and promote learning. We have many fun and educational titles.

Q: What’s so special about a personalized book?
A: By becoming the star of the story along with their favorite licensed cartoon character, the children love the books. All kids like to see their name in print. It also gets them excited about reading and learning and it is an excellent educational tool recognized by parents and teachers alike. This uniqueness generates many referrals and re-orders as the book becomes a keepsake recording memories of the child’s life along with a special message from the person giving the book.

Q: What kind of computer and printer do I need?
A: All you need is an IBM compatible computer with Windows™ 98 or newer. Call Best to verify compatibility. We strongly recommend a true black and white laser printer to print the text in our books. This will produce the highest quality finished product. Our books are fully color illustrated on high quality paper. We recommend a Hewlett Packard model 1020, 1022 or 1320 laser printer that more efficiently prints the text. The HP 1020 retails for around $180. If you currently have an ink jet or bubble jet printer, it may work. Call us for details and please don’t substitute for these models without consulting Best
.
Q: Who makes the books?
A: You make the books entirely in about 3 minutes with your computer and printer. We supply fully illustrated color pages onto which you print the text. Once printed, the pages are cut or folded, stapled together and attached to a hard cover with an adhesive sheet. All of the materials are included in the price of each book. The only other supplies that you need are a paper cutter and a heavy-duty stapler. It’s safe, easy and fun to do and no previous computer skills are required. It’s so simple that in a few minutes, even your children can make a book that looks like it came out of a factory.

Q: Where do I market the books?
A: One great thing about our books is that they literally sell themselves. This is due to the fact that we have so many licensed character books which include Spider-Man, Hulk, Wolverine, Bugs Bunny, Elmo, Big Bird and Scooby-Doo, just to mention a few. Each book will have your name and contact information in the back for re-orders. Some successful merchandising ideas include our new licensee web-sites, flea markets, craft shows, fundraising programs with schools, churches, etc., point of purchase displays and mail order as well as repeat business from word of mouth. Best also provides a manual in your software that discusses the wide range of possibilities.

Q: Are there other dealers in my area?
A: Possibly, although there is no way that even an army of dealers could satisfy an entire market. New children are born everyday creating a continual new customer base. If you like, check the malls and retail stores in your area. Ask them if they have any personalized book dealers working there.

Q: What is a typical first order?
A: We do suggest that your initial inventory include 3 to 10 titles. Once you establish your business, you may want to add additional titles. Or you may start with a single title and a supply of brochures, then place a larger book order once you see which books your customers request most often.

Q: Is there a minimum book order?
A: There are no minimum book orders. You may order only 1 book if you like or you may take advantage of our volume discounts by ordering 10 books or more per title.

Q: Who determines the retail price of the books?
A: Each dealer determines the retail price of the books. Typically, our dealers sell the books from $10.95 to $18.95 depending on the size and wholesale cost of each book.

Q: Are there any renewal or yearly fees?
A: Best has no renewal, dealership or franchise fees and there are no quotas that must be met.
