$30,000 in one month for brand new biz: video business cards.

By Michael L. Corne

Jim Huffman is the proud new owner of a Video Business Card Distributorship that is not only earning amazing profits but is helping a foundation raise awareness of cancer in children. Jim created a video business card to demonstrate a wide variety of facts on cancer and show how it affects everyone involved. Jim is delighted with every facet of the business and enjoys the training, support and follow-through of Infinite Marketing.

Jim Huffman launched his Video Business Card Distributorship in February this year. A month later, he had $30,000 in sales. Jim says, “The response to the Video Business Card (VBC™) has been fantastic. They absolutely have the WOW factor. Business people and professionals love the fact that they can put a personal video message on the VBC explaining the benefits of doing business with them. Biz is booming.

“They also like the way the VBC drives prospective customers to their web sites because there is a direct link to the site. There is also a direct link to their e-mail so prospects can easily contact them for more information. There is even a printable document for brochures or special offers.”

The first thing Jim did to get his business started was to purchase a booth at a trade show in Charleston, SC. He knew he was on the right track when several of the people who had booths around him purchased Video Business Cards so they could use them at their upcoming trade shows instead of brochures.

Jim said, “You have to always be thinking of who can benefit from the VBC.” Jim recently purchased a new home and had a pool installed after he moved-in. He thought the pool company’s sales people could use the VBC.

He called the owner of the company and got a $10,000 sale for their eight outside salespeople! Jim said, “The owner called the other day and wants to add three more salespeople to the order. She will be doing the video presentation on all the sales reps cards, but each VBC will feature the individual contact information for each sales rep, in addition to the web link and company brochure. Visuals help sell.

The owner of the pool company said she is excited that all of her people will finally be giving the same sales message to her customers over and over again.” Jim’s other sales include a direct mail company, realtor, utility marking service, geothermal water company, and a barter company.

The most impressive Video Business Card he sold is for a foundation that focuses on raising the awareness of cancer in children, “Chemo Duck”, a program of the A.S.C.E.N.D. foundation. “We produced an initial order of 250 VBCs just in time for a media blitz, and executive conference they had.” said Jim. The VBC will be attached to a stuffed duck that has a chemo port, baldhead, and bandana. These stuffed Chemo Ducks are given to children going though chemotherapy as a teaching tool to demonstrate what they will be going through.

The ASCEND foundation has ordered many thousands of these stuffed ducks and plan to attach a VBC to each one with the Chemo Duck story on it. The attached VBC includes a video about a child going through chemotherapy, eight printable documents, 20 plus web links, and a pre-written email for fund raising, so parents of the children with cancer can forward it to their friends with one clickand do so much!.

One of Jim’s previous businesses was a printing company. He knows what brochures and marketing materials cost, as a result, he understands the value, and affordability of the VBC. Jim truly enjoys helping others create a versatile marketing tool to excel their business into the 21st century with their own Video Business Card.

Jim emphasized, “The VBC is an exciting product and it is being very well received. However, you still have to work it as a business. Trade-Shows, networking clubs, like Business Network International (BNI), Chamber of Commerce meetings, and just going out there talking to everyone while you live life seems to be the best, not to mention easiest, way so far for me.

“It is also great to be associated with Infinite marketing, the company that developed the VBC, provides all the programming, produces the VBCs, and offers the distributorships, said the entrepreneur” Jim said he has attended other franchisor trainings classes for several franchises he has owned. He said, “Ed Zito, the founder and president of Infinite Marketing provides more than just a “How-To” guideline, he inspires people to be their best.” He continued, “Zito leads by example. For instance, while Zito was recently visiting his allergy doctor, he mentioned the VBC. Next thing you know, he was invited to make a presentation to the four doctors in the practice. That presentation resulted in the practice placing an order for VBCs with all four doctors on it.” Jim added, “Zito has a real passion for the VBC, his enthusiasm is contagious.”

Jim continued, “When new distributors leave Zito’s training, they will have identifiable skills, and the motivation to reach any plateau they set as a goal. With Infinite Marketing, you are in business for yourself, but not by yourself.”
