Schlotzsky’s has launched the first-of-its-kind loyalty app with patent pending referral technology. Schlotzsky’s, home of The Original® round oven-baked sandwich and famous Fresh-from-Scratch® buns, announces the nationwide launch of the Lotz4Me™ Guest Rewards mobile app. Schlotzsky’s is the first brand in the fast-casual industry to offer an app that combines a digital loyalty program with patent-pending technology that enables users to refer friends and earn rewards when their friends download the app and make a purchase.
Schlotzsky’s and Punchh
Schlotzsky’s partnered with Punchh, a mobile CRM platform provider based in Silicon Valley, California, to develop the Lotz4Me mobile app. Compatible with both iOS and Android, the app is designed to utilize social technology that allows guests to get rewards for referring the Schlotzsky’s brand to their friends through Facebook or word of mouth. The app enables tracking of purchases and can be used at all domestic Schlotzsky’s restaurants. Since the June 2 launch, the app has ranked as high as No. 4 in the Apple app store in the Restaurant category, ahead of Papa John’s, Panera, Chipotle and others.
“The Lotz4Me app is a game changer because it drives online and in-restaurant engagement and introduces Schlotzsky’s to new guests via the referral technology,” said Kelly Roddy, president of Schlotzsky’s. “We hope to grow sales, boost our online presence and appeal to younger guests with this app.”
To encourage adoption of the app, each download will be loaded with a credit for one free small The Original® Schlotzsky’s sandwich (with purchase of chips and 32oz. drink) during the month of June. For each friend who downloads the app based on Facebook referral, the guest who originated the invite will receive a referral punch once the new user visits a Schlotzsky’s to use the app. Schlotzsky’s aims to giveaway up to a million free sandwiches. The core of the app is its generous reward structure: Guests receive $7 off after their 7th visit (purchase minimum of $6 before tax).
Schlotzsky’s rolled out a “Sandwiches Have Landed” online campaign to create buzz about the Lotz4Me Guest Rewards program during its launch. Through a series of videos, the adventures of a team of unlikely heroes will be chronicled on YouTube, Facebook and Twitter throughout June as they set out to save the world from the invasion of one million sandwiches headed to earth. The duo will inform audiences how they can save the world from falling sandwiches by downloading the app to take a sandwich out of the sky.

In addition to the digital loyalty program, guests who download the app will gain access to rewards, exclusive insider news, special offers, and provide immediate guest feedback and surveys.
