Unite Us Launches Community Resource & Opportunitiy Platform For Veterans

[ 0 ] Nov. 7, 2013 | SBO Editor

New site helps Veterans and their families.  Unite US, the first hyper-local discovery and community management technology for military veterans and their families, today announces the launch of their free online resource platform.  Founded by 3 members of the United States Armed Forces and one civilian, Unite US is transforming the way the military and civilian community interacts, communicates and collaborates on a local and national level.

This technology allows military members, veterans, supporters, spouses, family members, organizations, and corporations to authentically connect and communicate based on location, interest, and needs.  The platform is built on a digital eco-system that aggregates the plethora of services and resources available, and allows for direct discovery of resources and opportunities that are provided locally. Unite US also incorporates custom software and community management tools to the platform; allowing organizations with veteran initiatives to reach their target audience, in addition to helping facilitate and manage their internal operations workflow.

Each of the veteran founders experienced their own challenges transitioning into the civilian sector, which enables Unite US to provide a solution from a unique, real-life perspective of military members.  There was a need in the market for a holistic technology platform that brings together all of the players involved in the military community. The solution and best approach materialized when Founder Dan Brillman (U.S Air Force), brought on Kareem Elsirafy, a U.S. Marine, who defined Unite US’ execution. The team was solidified with the addition of Andrew Price, who brings a unique civilian perspective, and Taylor Justice (U.S Army), who provides the business development solution for the project. The four men melded their personnel experiences and their unique experiences to formulate the Unite US solution.

The military community is comprised of almost 60 million people, which includes active duty military personnel, spouses, dependents, families, and veterans.  Unite US’ focus is to engage the military population within local communities, and also involve civilian supporters into the process.  During the transition from active duty into the “civilian sector,” it’s imperative to incorporate civilians and their respective entities into the solution. With the motto of “Find a Resource, Be a Resource”, civilian supporters are encouraged to join and offer assistance whether it is through volunteering their time, mentoring,  joining non-profit organizations or community-based veteran associations, or provide employment information.

Dan Brillman, Founder and CEO, commented, “Our mission is to demystify an already complex and challenging environment, which consisted of stripping down a clustered system and building an intuitive, efficient, and sustainable solution. We are proud to launch Unite US and feel confident that by building this community-based eco-system, members will be able to find the right mix of information, applicable resources, and opportunities available to them utilizing a much more simplified environment.”

Unite US continues to add features to the platform, as well as onboard partners such as non-profits, corporations like Verizon, education institutions, and government agencies in order to cover a wide spectrum of our member’s needs.
