Now more than ever, women-owned businesses are playing a greater role in the health of the U.S. economy starting businesses at a rate 150% higher than the national average. If female entrepreneurs unlocked their full potential, the positive impact would be huge. Women business owners are positioned to add 8 million jobs if each was able to hire just one person.
In response to the success women have experienced and the need to build on those accomplishments, American Express OPEN recently announced OPEN for Women: CEO BootCamp. This first-of-its-kind program immerses women entrepreneurs in the fundamental pillars for successful ventures: confidence, competence and connections.
“Given our rich legacy in the women’s entrepreneurship space, and the existing need, the time is right to establish this first of its kind program that speaks to the mindset of women entrepreneurs,” said Susan Sobbott, president, American Express OPEN. “CEO BootCamp will help them work on the business rather than in the business through highly focused programs that will help entrepreneurs identify growth opportunities that have an impact on local communities while contributing to the U.S. economy.”
CEO BootCamp will immerse women entrepreneurs in these concepts starting on September 20th with an all-day summit at the American Express auditorium in New York City. The program will continue with a series of events around the country and online at OPENForum.com.
