Smoothie King Franchisee Blends Up $4.5 Million

Want to make more money? Roger Wilder began working at Smoothie King when he was just 15 years old and today owns and operates 10 Greater Baton Rouge area locations.

After holding his first job at the Celebration Station store for eight years, he took a position at the Smoothie King Home Office in New Orleans.  During his employment there, he had the opportunity to work with the owners and founders of the Smoothie King brand, and to learn first-hand their vision and direction for a successful Smoothie King operation.

In 2000, Roger decided to move to Baton Rouge with his wife Stephanie, and the couple opened their first Smoothie King franchise in Denham Springs in 2001. In their first year of operation, Roger won Smoothie King’s National Outstanding New Franchisee Award.

In 2004, Roger acquired his second store and a third in 2005.

Roger understands the importance of local store marketing and giving back to the communities he serves. His 10 locations alone give away more than 25,000 smoothies a year on average. In 2004, Roger created a Smoothie King fundraising program, which has helped raise more than $1,000,000 for local schools across six different parishes.

Since 2003, Roger has been president of Smoothie King’s Greater Baton Rouge Area Marketing Cooperative.  During this time he has led the advertising and marketing efforts and expanded the Smoothie King brand across the Greater Baton Rouge area. He has also served as an elected member of Smoothie King’s National Franchise Advisory Council seven times and has been the chairman of the council twice.

Lastly, for the past seven years, Roger has been awarded Smoothie King’s Franchisee of the Year Award, the top award given to Smoothie King franchisees. In 2012, Roger’s sales for his Smoothie King franchise were $4.5 million.
