Recently, HP and Walgreens announced that more than 8,000 Walgreens locations have joined the extensive network of HP Public Print Locations (PPL), allowing customers to print photos directly from their mobile device to a Walgreens location quickly and securely. With the addition of Walgreens, there are more than 30,000 HP PPLs worldwide, providing enterprise and SMB workers, as well as other mobile customers, a way to print emails, documents and photos at retail locations such as Walgreens, FedEx Office stores and The UPS Store locations.
“As we extend the HP Public Print Location network to include Walgreens, customers and partners will have greater access to convenient and flexible printing solutions as they need it,” said John Tomesco, vice president, Worldwide Enterprise Business Development, Printing and Personal Systems, HP.
Printing at Walgreens is expected in future versions of the ePrint Service app for Blackberry and Android.
The HP ePrint Service application for smartphones and tablets is available for download at www.hp.com/go/eprintmobile. HP is the only company that makes it easy for customers to securely print from their mobile devices to both HP and non-HP printers at work and while on the go by geolocating nearby locations.
HP also announced that the HP ePrint mobile apps reached a milestone of 6 million downloads in 2012, with the number of people printing to the HP PPL network currently doubling every six months.
