The Body Shop founder, Anita Roddick, was searching for botanical ingredients from habitats all over the world after she gave birth to two children. She wanted them to have the purest ingredients in their foods and formulas. In the process she became an avid environmentalist. Roddick died in 2007 but was a trailblazer in banning cosmetic testing on animals. She was a huge advocate for recycled packaging and defending the rights of indigenous peoples.
