Consider A Sponsorship To Build Community Goodwill

[ 1 ] Apr. 3, 2012 | SBO Editor

Have you considered sponsorsing a local charity, team, effort or mission to build goodwill in your community? You can generate publicity that just might lure customers into your shop or small business.  John Nikas is on a mission that is sponsorship-worthy.

Everything he’s doing is very grassroots.  John is taking a dilapidated 1953 Austin Healey that was bought on eBay Motors and he’s driving 50,000 miles through 50 states. He made one previous trip cross country and back and it galvanized a lot of people. His charity is called Drive Away Cancer and folks treat that car like a living memorial — they sign it and cry with it. The car  needs fine-tuning and it is allegorical of a lot of people dealing with cancer.

Grace, the name of the car, has been signed by Jay Leno and Jeffifer Aniston to help build awareness for the cause. Look for John puttering through your community and invite him to your parking lot for lunch. Build momentum and help a cause.

eBay Motors tracks his journey and lets him upload videos, blogs, etc. and people can also make donations via eBay motors.

Let me hear from you if John is going to be through the Memphis, Tennessee vicinity during his 50-state odyssey to “Drive Away Cancer.” Our British Sports Car Club, other clubs, and individuals would love to offer support when John comes into our area. We need a little time to plan based upon itinerary, prediction for date through the area, and gathering support. I may be contacted via E-mail listed above and the telephone once communication is initially established.

    Sincerely,

    Jerry Chandler
