The board game Monopoly is still as popular as ever but the company has changed some of the tools to keep up with the times. The lantern, the rocking horse and the purse have been replaced with a dog, the wheelbarrow and the horseback rider. The game debuted in 1935 and was inspired by an early 20th century game that showed how landlords take advantage of tenants. Charles Darrow created the Monopoly we play today. Today there are dozens and dozens of versions of the popular games including a Pixar, a Surfrider and a 360 XBox version.
