früute, a curious new pastry shop opened its doors in West Hollywood in July, serving unique mini tarts incredibly airy and artistically infused with meticulously paired flavors, some even quite unexpected.
A collaboration between two sisters and their mother, früute unites classic French technique with modern sensibility. Their passion is evident in every step, starting with organic flour, sugar and dairy, and carefully sourced ingredients. Unique, custom designed square tart moulds were created, which produce a perfectly light and delicate scratch-made crust.
18 signature tarts are handmade daily. Like the Passion Fruit, ganache and crèmeaux enrobed in vanilla crust and topped with a tropical macaroon; and the Sea Salt Caramel, a macadamia, sea salt caramel, dried berry and honey mosaic topped with a blackberry. Other flavors include Budino, Piña Colada, Crème Brulee, Araguani Chocolate and Tiramisu.
